About Cornerstone

Cornerstone is a restored Grade II listed venue in the heart of Cardiff, opened in 2016 and designed to host a wide range of events with ease and character.

With a grand main hall, licensed bar, stage, outdoor patio and on-site kitchens, it’s a flexible space for everything from private celebrations and fundraisers to corporate events, performances and wedding receptions.

    With a licensed bar, stage, outdoor patio and on-site kitchens, the venue is designed to adapt easily to different event styles, layouts and timings.

  • Menus are bespoke, professionally delivered and planned around your event, from formal dining and tasting menus to relaxed sharing food, canapés and evening catering. Dietary requirements are fully accommodated.

Cornerstone is made up of several distinct spaces, each offering flexibility, character and clear capacity for different types of events.

The Great Hall Dewi Sant

The centrepiece of Cornerstone and its largest space. With a high vaulted ceiling, full-depth stage and integrated AV, the Great Hall is ideal for conferences, gala dinners, wedding receptions and large-scale celebrations.

Jane Hodge Hall

A bright, open hall located at the rear of the complex, well suited to community events, exhibitions, meetings and flexible dining layouts. It connects directly to the David Neville Gallery, allowing events to flow across spaces.

David Neville Gallery

A mezzanine-level space overlooking the hall below, offering a relaxed setting for smaller gatherings or more formal sit-down arrangements. Includes access to a glazed conference room for private meetings.

CAPACITY: UP TO 30 GUESTS

Private dining room

An intimate, softly furnished space designed for hosted dining experiences. Ideal for private dinners, tastings and small celebrations, with dedicated at-table service from the Spiros team.

CAPACITY: UP TO 12 GUESTS

The Lounge

The lounge works well for private dining, one-to-one conversations or as a quiet retreat away from the main event, with flexible layouts to suit everything from seated discussions to casual drinks and networking.

Outdoor areas

Cornerstone’s outdoor areas provide a welcome extension to the venue, offering space for guests to step outside, gather informally or enjoy a quieter moment during events. Furnished with tables and chairs, they work well for drinks receptions, breakout moments or relaxed conversation.

Cornerstone is a flexible, city-centre venue for wedding receptions and celebrations, with space to host up to 220 guests in the Great Hall and smaller rooms available for more intimate dining.

The venue is fully licensed, with on-site kitchens, a licensed bar and experienced event managers to oversee the day. Everything happens under one roof, making planning simpler and the flow of the day more relaxed.

As the in-house caterers, we design bespoke wedding menus to suit your style - from formal dining to sharing food, bowl service or evening catering - with private tastings available to help shape the details.
