In October 2016, we opened our biggest home-from-home venue yet – Cornerstone!
Set up to be our office, main kitchen and primary base (complete with private wine-tasting cellar…), Cornerstone was destined to become the official Spiros headquarters in Cardiff city centre.
Boasting a huge ballroom, with additional entertaining spaces for public and private events, we wanted Cornerstone to be a brand new choice open to Cardiff and South Wales’ bridal couples looking for something different.
As an historic venue settled in the heart of Cardiff, it offers something totally different for couples who don’t want scenic manor houses and the like.
But what might a Cardiff city centre wedding in Cornerstone actually look like? Well, now we can find out! We recently hosted one of our first wedding receptions in our Great Hall (congratulations Mr & Mrs Halford!), complete with canapés, dancing, and endless cocktails, of course…
The space
Whether you’d prefer classic minimalism or something more opulent, Cornerstone is flexible. We’ll work with you to find out what styles you prefer and what accessories and decor you’d like.
The Great Hall, even in its resting state, is a large and ornate space, with stained glass windows and striking ceilings. The rest is up to you – be as creative as you like!
The food
Of course, every wedding is unique. With a huge range of options for the catering, from canapés to summer barbecues, you can have whatever you like!
In this case, finger food and sharing platters were on the menu. Plated and slated, they’re ready to go!
The party
In a hall that can fit up to 200 guests and some rather enthusiastic dancing, our day-to-evening parties see guests through a Cardiff sunset, nicely merry from the in-room bar.
We cater for a lot of weddings in beautiful places, from the rolling hills in Glamorgan to the coast of Llantwit Major. Hosting a Cardiff city centre wedding in the heart of the capital is a hugely rewarding experience for us – and we think the bridal couple loved it too!
