On Friday 16th December, we were honoured to have His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales visit our newest venue, Cornerstone, to grant its official opening.

As a former church with the Archdiocese of Cardiff, we’ve always been keen to keep Cornerstone’s history and community spirit alive. So to have the Prince of Wales with us, viewing the transformation of the building and its timeline of history from a church to a community space / arts & events venue, was a fantastic experience.

Prince Charles was really keen to meet apprentices and all the people involved from the start of the project, including engineers, architects, builders and people who had donated money to make it all possible.

He also met members of the Metropolitan Cathedral Choir and the community within the Archdiocese including children from various schools within the area.

During his visit, His Royal Highness unveiled a stone commissioned to mark the official opening of Cornerstone, which will be inset into the building, before signing the official guest book.

You can read more about the official visit here, and view some of the photos below.
