This autumn, entertainment, food, speakers and a celebrity radio host assemble for a very special ‘Ladies Lunch’…
On Thursday 19th October, join us at Cornerstone for a Ladies Lunch, hosted in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Last year, Tenovus Cancer Care supporters raised £35,000 during October in an effort to ‘Go Pink’ – this year, we can help them do it again!
What is it?
‘Ladies Lunch’ is a chance to gather your friends together and enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and food for a great cause! The event is host by BBC Radio Wales presenter Vicki Blight and features exciting speakers. You can enjoy a delicious two course lunch as you help to support breast cancer patients and fund vital research into better treatments.
One of the speakers is Luke Piggott, cancer researcher and Cardiff Devils ice hockey player. Back in 2009 Tenovus Cancer Care funded Luke’s PhD studentship and he found a way to selectively kill the cells that cause breast cancer to spread. He continues to work with Tenovus and is now co-supervising a PhD student of his own, to further this research.
Luke will be joining the event to give an insight into his findings and a chance to learn more about the advances in his breast cancer research.
The event organisers are Tenovus Cancer Care, a Wales-based charity dedicated to helping people with cancer and their loved ones.
