As experienced caterers, we know what works when it comes to planning your event. That’s why we’ve partnered up with some of the most professionally run and beautiful venues around.
Every month we’ll be choosing one as our ‘Venue of the Month’; this time, it’s the classic and characteristic St Peter’s Hall!
Our original home-from-home venue, St Peter’s Hall is nestled just behind St Peter’s Catholic Church in Roath, Cardiff. The church itself is the oldest surviving Catholic Church in Cardiff, with over a century of storied history to its name.
With facilities for every event under the sun, this venue mixes its history with practicality. It hosts a huge range of events every week, from community Scout and Brownie groups to corporate conferences and wedding receptions.

What type of venue is St Peter’s Hall?
St Peter’s Hall is an events centre in the heart of Roath, just behind St Peter’s Church. With a main hall, conference rooms, kitchen and coffee bar, its seen birthday parties, sports clubs, and art exhibitions walk through its doors.
Also, as a regular host to wedding ceremonies in the gorgeous, opulent church, with receptions held in the spacious main hall, St Peter’s Hall is truly versatile, whatever your needs.

Founded in 1830, the church itself has undergone an incredible transformation over the past 187 years. The iconic stained glass was added in 1912-1913, while six dormer windows were added in 1926 to give the church interior its flooding of light we still see today.
In 2000, a restoration took place that was paid for by the congregation themselves. Over time, the upkeep and rejuvenation of the building has restored it to its former glory.
What’s the area like?
As one of Cardiff’s suburbs closest to the city centre, Roath is vibrant, arty, and always interesting! St Peter’s Hall is just a 10 minute drive away from the spectacular Victorian landmark, Roath Park & Lake.

Not only that, but it’s a mere 5 minutes drive from Cardiff’s iconic Bute Park. Both of these park settings have been used in wedding photography following the official church ceremony, and it’s not hard to see why.
Roath itself is one of Cardiff’s brightest suburbs, with an eclectic mix of restaurants, independent shops, and great places like The Gate Arts Centre. For corporate events and family parties, there’s a whole community of places to eat and things to do waiting outside the doors of St Peter’s Hall.
It’s an incredibly community-focused area, with a weekly Saturday Farmers Market outside the Mackintosh Sports Centre – there’s even a local brewery that crafts its beers inspired by Roath’s famous people and stories!
What type of event is it ideal for?
For weddings, St Peter’s Hall is a truly versatile venue that offers bridal couples a great option if costly fairytale-esque ceremonies in palaces are not on the cards – but, brilliantly, it still comes with all the grand interior opulence of those venues!
The church is gorgeous, lofty, and extravagant with a 400 capacity, while the ballroom, with its classic proscenium arch on the stage and a 200 capacity, can be dressed however you like.
